I find this extraordinary on several levels. It takes some real integrity, and balls, to admit you were so completely wrong about such a bitterly contentious issue and to publicly apologize for it. And this was a real apology. No excuses. No blame shifting. No what-about-isms. Just a total concession he was wrong, and an apology to those he maligned.
Do not expect any of the left wing politicians or media to own up in a similar way. Their whole self-image is based on being the smart ones. The people who follow (and understand) “the science.” To admit they were wrong about such a huge issue would just crush them. Worse, they would have to admit the demonization and mocking of their political enemies was unjustified. And all of their preening, virtue signaling, and hysterical shaming were totally baseless. Definitely a bridge too far for their fragile egos.
Holy Crap. A study by Johns Hopkins concluded that the COVID-19 lockdowns reduced mortality from the pandemic by 0.2%. In other words, indistinguishable from zero. I always suspected the lockdowns did very little. Now we have confirmation from a very reputable source that they actually did absolutely nothing. Yet we hear crickets from all the mainstream media outlets. How is this not the story of the century? The U.S. practically imprisoned it’s citizens in their own homes for nearly a year. Our own government destroyed the life’s work of countless small business owners. Decimated the economy. Did tremendous damage to the education of our children. And caused massive suffering, division, mental anguish, and strife. All for nothing.
I was a huge Donald Trump fan. But he actually did deserve to be impeached. When he turned total control of the country over to a creepy little government bureaucrat with a god complex, it was a gross error in judgement that led to a massive over-reaction imposed with an authoritarian zeal. I think Trump realized his mistake by the fall, but by then the Cult of Fauci was more or less unstoppable. Democrats were so enamored with their covid messiah, they couldn’t possibly attack Trump for needlessly imploding the economy like he deserved to be. Comically, they instead chose to attack Trump for not doing more to turn the United States into a gulag. And they nominated a crusty old dimwit to do exactly that. (Actually, President Pants Load promised to shut down the virus, not the economy. How could a dementia-riddled dullard achieve such a miracle? Because, he is a Democrat, and Democrats are the smart ones. Duh!)
Lockdowns were a complete debacle with no historical precedent or solid scientific rationale. In fact, the whole lockdown concept was developed only recently. It was cooked up during the Bush administration based on the science project of a 15 year-old high school kid. Yet the media still worships their covid oracle without question and relentlessly pushes the government narrative. SCIENCE!
The trucker rally taking place in Canada right now has somewhat restored my faith in our neighbors to the North. After electing effeminate weirdo Justin Trudeau twice, I figured Canuckistan had gone full blown WOKE(!) The protests prove that at least a sizable minority of Canadians still have a decent bit of testosterone left in them. Some of them still remember what freedom is, and they are not going to allow themselves to be enslaved without a fight.
However, the media coverage of the Canadian trucker rally looks very familiar. It turns out the US media aren’t the only ones who are big enough assholes to lie about their political foes. The Canadian media is probably even more left wing than ours, if that is actually possible. They are certainly less subtle about their biases. The CBC is Canada’s state-funded media company. Check out some of the blatant propaganda in this hit piece they recently published.
The article starts out noting that scores of angry left wing Canadians have been breaking ties with anyone who dares to join a peaceful protest they don’t agree with:

Wow. I can’t believe that person turned down an opportunity to be lectured by some random fuckwad with a Biology degree. What a missed opportunity. Mr. Biology could have cleared up all of this guy’s “misunderstandings” and explained all of that confusing medical jargon using simple one syllable words that even the hoi polloi could understand. He must have been brainwashed by Fox News into believing freedom was more important than submitting to your intellectual superiors for your own good. So sad. Swastikas and Confederate flags! These people are truly shameless. I have seen tons of pictures and videos from the protests. All you see are friendly patriotic folks smiling and waving the Canadian flag. In fact, the atmosphere seems almost celebratory. The Ottawa police were even forced to admit that the crowd was not violent, but still insisted on labeling them “dangerous” anyways. The racism and white supremacy smears against these good people are a pathetically transparent attempt to marginalize them and avoid addressing the substance of their protest. The fact the CBC would take part in it is at the same time appalling and totally expected.
I actually took the time to follow the links in the article claiming the truckers are white supremacists flying swastikas and Confederate flags. The 1st link has a total of zero pictures to back up their claims. The entirety of their evidence is one anonymous woman from Winnipeg who claims to have seen a Confederate flag on her morning drive. Seriously. That’s it. An unverifiable story told by a single person. And the evidence they give for swastikas is even weaker.
To be fair, I did see one video on YouTube where a jackass with a confederate flag tried to join in on the protest. The protestors immediately called this fool out as a left wing saboteur. With his cover blown, he quietly slinked away. I am quite confident 99% of all the other allegations of racism are astro-turf bullshit too. I’m really getting sick of the left’s slimy tactics. Maybe we should start doing the same vile shit to them. Any time they have a protest, conservatives should pose as pedophiles and join in. Then we can say, See! The left is chock full of pedophiles! Everything they do or say can be linked back to pedophilia! Only problem is, I don’t think leftists would be all that upset to be associated with pedophiles.

I lose respect.”

Recently, Bill Maher and Bari Weiss did a segment where they declared they were “over” covid. By “over” covid, what they meant was returning to a more normal life and learning to live with the virus. This heresy totally freaked out some of the true believers in the Cult of Fauci, most notably Whoopi Goldberg and Don Lemon.
A couple of things about the Goldberg and Lemon rants stuck out to me. First, they both blamed the unvaccinated for the continuation of the pandemic. The government has stubbornly clung to the narrative that the vaccines would end the pandemic. A year ago that seemed plausible. Now it is clearly nonsense. While the evidence is strong the vaccines do reduce the severity of illness, particularly for people in vulnerable groups, they clearly are all but useless at stopping infection and transmission. Israel, probably the most vaccinated country on the planet, just set a new record for infections in a single day. But to the cult of Fauci, the vaccines are still the magic bullet that will fix everything.
Whoopi and Lemon even used the same language, talking about “those of us who followed the rules and did the right thing” being punished for the sins of others. Well, yeah, you followed the rules. You blindly obeyed every diktat issued by the government bureaucrats. And where did that get you? Was unquestioningly doing exactly what you were told really the right thing? Was shutting down the schools the right thing? Spraying your mail with disinfectant? Standing 6 feet apart? Putting any old piece of cloth over your face? Decimating small businesses? Isolating our children?
Another thing they both focused on was the children. Whoopi was concerned about 5 year-olds not being eligible for the jab. One of the few bright spots during this whole cluster fuck has been the fact that school age children are all but impervious to covid. They don’t get seriously ill and die unless they already have serious underlying health issues. But the cultists are continuously acting like that isn’t the case. In the US, covid fatalities for children are in the hundreds. Total. Since the start of the pandemic. A British study concluded that regular old influenza was twice as deadly as covid to children. The car ride to the pharmacy to get the poke is much more dangerous to a child than the virus itself. The only rationale for vaccinating young people is to protect old people. But even that doesn’t make sense, because the vaccinated can still catch and pass on the virus. Yet we are still immersed 24/7 in TV commercials hounding us to get our children vaccinated.
And of course they both wallowed in their own self-righteous empathy. Bearing the covid death toll like a cross. How dare you question the wisdom of an inept and corrupt government bureaucracy when people have died? How dare you contemplate learning to live with a virus that clearly isn’t going away… ever? The only decent and moral thing to do is hide in your basement and continue taking jabs until a life-long government toady with ties to big pharma says it is ok to do otherwise.
The cultists have been following the rules for years. Fauci, the Oracle of Covid, told them to completely put their lives on hold and cower in fear. And if they obeyed, they would be rewarded with deliverance. I think it is beginning to dawn on them that their deliverance will never come. And they are pissed. Understandably so after sacrificing so much. The government wants them to blame the unvaccinated. Despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary, so far it seems to be working.

Just in case there is any lingering doubt about the priorities of Fauci and his henchmen, here is a quote from one of the e-mails:

From the get go, Fauci has tried to silence any questions about how the covid pandemic started. It has been clear that Fauci was much more concerned about protecting the dangerous research he was funding from oversight and ensuring it continued uninhibited than in exposing the truth about the origins of covid. This hubris on the part of Fauci goes back for many years. The video below shows (a much younger) Fauci testifying to Congress and dismissing concerns that gain-of-function research could lead to a catastrophic pandemic and arrogantly stating that the knowledge gained was totally worth any miniscule risk involved.
More recently, Fauci took some shit for declaring any criticism of him was a criticism of science itself. But it is clear he really does believe that. The arrogance of that creepy little troll drips with every condescending word that comes out of his mouth. Fox News host Lara Logan was suspended last week after comparing Fauci to Nazi doctor Josef Mengele. Mengele is one of history’s greatest monsters. He committed unspeakable crimes against humanity while performing demented experiments on concentration camp prisoners. But I’m not so sure the comparison is totally unfair. Over the top, sure. But unfair? Fauci certainly hasn’t reached Mengele levels of sheer evil. But he clearly places his pursuit of “science” above concerns for other humans. And it is obvious, that in his hubris, he believes he is above scrutiny. That his knowledge and judgement are sacrosanct. Plus the experiments he has overseen on dogs and monkeys are grotesque.
From his position in the federal government, Dr. Fauci has been vigorously pushing gain of function research for years. To him, advancing the “science” was more important than safety. How else to explain outsourcing incredibly dangerous experimentation to China, a country renowned for cutting corners and taking a half-assed approach to safety? Would there even have been a covid pandemic if not for Anthony Fauci? I think it is a fair question.
A few weeks ago, in what was by far the most divisive speech I’ve ever heard from a sitting President, Joe Biden announced that he was imposing a vaccine mandate in a backhanded way through OSHA. Mere months after lamenting the Federal Government had no authority to mandate citizens take the jab, they decided to do it anyways. Or at least make life hell for those who resist. Constitutional limits are for suckers, you know.
“Our patience is wearing thin”, Biden scolded, as he justified forcing people to be injected with hastily-approved medications they don’t want by the need to “protect vaccinated workers from unvaccinated co-workers.” So it wasn’t supposed to be about protecting the dirty, unwashed, Trump-loving unvaccinated from themselves. There has never been much support in America for laws to protect people from themselves (other than on the far left.) It is (was?) a free country. And free people should be allowed to make their own choices and live with the consequences, good or bad. As long as they aren’t harming others, of course. And Biden made clear that his mandate was necessary to protect the (clean and virtuous) fully vaccinated from the disease-ridden, science-denying troglodytes. Biden made no effort to hide his disdain for the vaccine-hesitant and the damage they were doing to the obedient faithful. A more stark us-vs-them distinction would be hard to imagine.
Biden then went on to undermine his own case by declaring it to be a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” and promised getting the vaccine would spare the infected from serious illness, hospitalization, and death. If that was true, why would the vaccinated need to be protected from the unvaccinated? Logical consistency is probably too much to ask of the dementia-riddled old jackass occupying the Oval Office. At least he got through the speech without crapping his pants (probably.)
So the basis for the mandate was weak from the start. New information since then has only further undermined the case for this unprecedented assault on medical autonomy. Tons of evidence has emerged that shows while the vaccines do improve outcomes, they are far from perfect, especially when it comes to slowing the spread of the disease. 76% of covid deaths in Vermont during the month of September were fully vaccinated. A Harvard study came out that found no correlation whatsoever between vaccination rates and the spread of covid on a county-level scale in the United States. Covid is surging in the Irish county of Waterford where 99.7% of the population is fully vaccinated. A recent study indicates that the efficacy of the vaccines starts to significantly wane after only 3 months. In fact, the J&J vaccine retained only a paltry 3% efficacy after 6 months. Yet recipients of the J&J jab are still considered “fully vaccinated.” Try telling me with a straight face that Big Pharma isn’t calling the shots here. I’ll wait. Then you have the Israeli study, the numerous horror stories about young (i.e. not vulnerable) people suffering horrific side effects, and so much more.
Finally you have the troll-like little crap weasel Anthony Fauci flat-out lying about how effective the vaccines are… And nobody but a de-platformed comedian is willing to call him out on it. Everybody else is afraid to question the Church of Fauci, because Big Tech will drop the hammer on anyone who dares question the administration’s narrative. Virtually all of the evidence indicates the vaccines do nothing to stop the spread of covid. That fact alone blows Biden’s justification for the mandate out of the water. The unvaccinated are no more likely to infect the vaccinated then the fellow-vaccinated. On top of that, the data suggests the protection the vaccines provide is, sadly, short-lived and inferior to natural immunity. So why on Earth would you want to jab covid survivors, other than to inflate the numbers and get closer to your arbitrarily chosen target? The short-term risk of serious side effects from the jab, while small, seems to be much greater than any previously approved vaccines. And any possible long-term side effects are still pure speculation. But Joe Biden ran on “defeating the virus.” Plus he (foolishly) blames the Delta surge on his sagging economy, poll numbers, and agenda. So he will push ahead with crushing the liberties of American citizens for a virus with a 99% survival rate.
I’ve made up my mind. This spring I told my significant other that I wouldn’t deprive myself of beneficial medication just because a moron said I should take it. After all, even a broken clock is right twice a day. I was actually signed up to get the J&J poke, which got halted 2 days before my appointment due to severe blood clotting issues. I chose to cancel altogether rather than take one of the other options. As it turns out, that J&J jab would be all but useless now, 7 months later. Today, as a practical matter, I’m inclined to wait a while and see how things shake out. However, as a philosophical matter, there is no choice. A moron chiding me is one thing. A petty tyrant threatening me is quite another. I will not be taking the jab any time soon. So many people have lost their jobs over this. Cops. Nurses. And many others. Good people. Many were being hailed as heroes just a year ago. Their stories are gut-wrenching. Hopefully I won’t become one of them. But everyone needs to have thresholds that can’t be crossed. Principles that are worth fighting for, even if it means personal hardship. Hills that are worth dying on. For me, this is one of those hills. I will not comply.
So, I get daily e-mail updates from the New York Times because I have an account set up with them. I only created the account because I wanted to fisk one of their protected articles a while back. However, I have kept it open because the e-mails are so hilariously biased they are usually good for a chuckle or two. And since the rest of the garbage media invariably follows the Times lead, the daily e-mails perfectly portend what narrative the rest of the idiot talking heads will be trying to push next.
The New York Times whole business model is basically pandering to the smugness of their progressive readers. It is crucial to the progressive psyche to believe that they are smarter and more sophisticated than the hoi polloi in flyover country. Of course, the Times can’t just come out and tell their readers they must be smart because they read the New York Times and can regurgitate progressive dogma on command. They have to be at least a little bit subtle with their pandering. So you get little gems like this one from this mornings update:

To the Times and their readers, the only people dumb enough not to get the government jab are those deplorable Trumplikins. Never mind about age, health, or natural immunity. A troll-like career government bureaucrat wearing a lab coat said everybody must take the jab. So that makes it SCIENCE! And smart people like the Times readers always follow the science. It’s what separates them from those ignorant rubes they love to sneer at.
It is true that Mississippi recently took over as the State with the highest per capita covid mortality rate. (Hah, stupid Republicans!) But the mortality rates in New York and New Jersey are statistically identical… In fact, they were way out in front until this recent wave hit the southeastern States so hard over the summer. Strangely, CNN and the Times failed to make that same connection when it was liberal bastions topping the list over the last 18 months. Apparently, blame can only be assigned when it is Republican states that are suffering. Most likely, the hot spots will shift back north as we slip into the winter months. I guess we’ll see how fast the progressives are to mock the people succumbing to Fauci’s little science(!) experiment then.
The Times also goes out of their way to point out that people without college degrees are more likely to be unvaccinated. This feeds right into the preferred progressive narrative of ignorant Trump voters, too dumb to know what’s good for them, needlessly extending the pandemic. What the Times fails to mention to their slavish readers is that the education level with the lowest vaccination rate is the PhDs. That’s right, it’s the doctors who are most hesitant to take the government jab. And nurses are quitting in droves rather than be forced to take it. But that little fact doesn’t jibe with the narrative the Times’ readers want to hear, so it goes unmentioned. (P.S. It never should have been the government jab. The bastards in DC made it that when they repeatedly lied about it and now want to force the citizenry to take it whether they want it or not.)
Also, the dipshits at the Times absolutely love to play identity politics. They almost never miss an opportunity to bring race into any discussion, whether it is relevant or not. Yet, in this instance the Times oddly chose to ignore race altogether in it’s reporting. Which is doubly surprising when you find out there is actually a huge racial disparity in vaccination rates. What gives? It turns out that the racial group least likely to be vaccinated are blacks. Yet in the world of intersectional oppression the New York Times inhabits, blacks can never be at fault. They must always be the victims in all circumstances. The cognitive dissonance of trying to explain why Republicans who don’t want the jab are stupid, but black people who don’t want the same poke are not, was probably too much for their feeble minds to grapple with. So they chose to ignore it instead. The Times certainly does not want to demonize black Americans. They reserve all of their hatred and vitriol for the people who really deserve it. Republicans.
The Washington Times published an interesting op-ed on vaccines and the Biden Administration’s (mis)use of them. I’m not totally sold on all of the points presented, but it certainly makes some interesting arguments which are worthy of consideration. The op-ed carries a little extra weight because it was co-written by Dr. Robert Malone. Dr. Malone is literally one of the key inventors of the mRNA vaccine technology. So the left’s standard procedure of denouncing him as “anti-science” and a spreader of “misinformation” doesn’t really work. Instead, they are borrowing from the old Soviet Union playbook and attempting to erase him from history altogether. Lefties are nothing if not predictable.
As for what this all means politically, I think Biden and the Democrats are in deep doo-doo come 2022. The next election is still a long ways off, but polls show Biden is underwater on almost every issue except his handling of the COVID pandemic. I think that is going to come crashing down on him big time. And sooner, rather than later. In the debates, Trump was for a return to normalcy. Biden said we couldn’t have normalcy until we “defeated” the virus. And swore he was the only candidate that could do it. However, it is sure starting to look like the coronavirus is here to stay. Between “leaky” vaccines and multiple new variants, the coronavirus appears set to join influenza and the common cold as perennial scourges on humanity (thanks, Fauci!!!) With no hope of “victory” over COVID, Biden’s big-stuffing in the debates will be exposed as the vain bluster of a befuddled imbecile, and his draconian countermeasures will be seen in a much less favorable light. (The Administration knows this. Which is why they are already trying to deflect blame on to Red State governors and the unvaccinated.) Successfully pinning a (un)natural disaster on the incumbent was a large part of how the Democrats weaseled their way back into power. It’s about to get thrown back in their smug faces.
A medical doctor recently voiced an opinion on masks and vaccines that ran afoul of the current version of the government approved discourse. And CNN pounced to publicly shame and embarrass him. That was literally the only point of their deplorable hit piece. CNN’s supposed “news story” has zero informational value whatsoever. You can tell how interested the total bitch of a reporter is in finding out why a rational person might believe such things by the questions she shouts at him after ambushing him on a bike ride: “do you feel responsible for people who got sick and died?”, “what do you say to the families that have lost loved ones?” All while her smarmy tone just drips with self-righteousness. This isn’t news. It’s not opinion. It’s public shaming and personal harassment. And the message sent is clear. Dare to stray from the approved narrative of the Administration, and you too could face the wrath of the Covid brownshirts.
The Democrat cabal that seized power in our country has decided it is time to rule by decree and dissent is no longer allowable. And while they can’t use the law enforcement power of the government to enforce their edicts by force (not quite yet at least), their willing toadies in the media and corporate America are more than willing to be the muscle for their Federal mob bosses.
The government of the United States is intentionally harming children. A new study in the UK has confirmed that children are nearly impervious to COVID-19. Expect that study to be ignored by our government. After all, this isn’t really a revelation. We have know for a long time that children were not very susceptible to the coronavirus. Now the UK study proves that regular old influenza is nearly twice as deadly to children as COVID. The children have always been safe. And it has been apparent almost from the beginning of the pandemic. Now it’s so blatantly obvious, even the ultra-progressive New York magazine had to admit it.
Yet the government is pushing hard to get kids and young adults (also not vulnerable) to take the jab. They need to get to that 70% target they set come hell or high water. And they don’t care who they have to poke to get there. Never mind the vaccines are still experimental and we still don’t know what the long term side effects might be. And the anecdotal stories of horrible reactions continue to mount and mount. Like the 12-year old girl who ended up in a wheel chair. Or the man who’s skin peeled off. Or this poor guy who has inflammation of the brain. Or the gut-wrenching story of the healthy 13-year old boy who died just days after getting the jab. Yet Fauci and crew still want to poke children all the way down in age to diapers. Pure insanity. Every person needs to make a cost-vs-benefit / risk-vs-reward evaluation of the vaccine for themselves (and their children.) For older people, the case that the risks of COVID far outweigh the risks of the vaccine is pretty easy to make. But for healthy children, there is no benefit. Their risk from COVID is already zero. It can’t go any lower.
Then there is the masks at school. Masks are of dubious value to start with. If putting any old piece of cloth over your face could protect you from submicroscopic viruses, I think somebody would have noticed that before now in the millennia of human existence. Yet the government is pushing K-12 schools to mandate masks, even though there is ample evidence they are bad for children’s mental and respiratory health. They are also pushing hard for masks and mandatory vaccines for young people who want to attend college in the fall.
There is even talk of returning to lockdowns and remote learning. Remote learning was a disaster. Elementary school kids are already 4-8 months behind where they would normally be according to numerous studies like this one by McKinsey and Co. And US education wasn’t all that great to start with.
All of this damage is being done to children, and for what? Certainly not for their benefit. The most generous interpretation you could make is that the government is lying to manipulate young people into getting vaccinated to protect older Americans. Shifting risk from old to young. Although even that explanation is on shaky ground scientifically. And, by their own cost-vs-benefit calculation, that might be the best way to save the most lives. But it is an immoral one. That is not their choice to make. And manipulating the public through lies is also immoral, as well as detrimental to the public trust. If the government has decided young people should risk the jab to save the older people, they should make that case explicitly. And not resort to fear-mongering and bribes of money or scholarships.
A more cynical interpretation would be that the government just wants to maintain the illusion of control. They want people to continue to believe that we are “beating” the virus by following along with their demented game of Simon Says. The virus can not be allowed to ebb and flow and eventually disappear like all previous pandemics. The government experts and “science” must prevail and be seen as conquering heroes. Especially after those same experts have demanded so much sacrifice and destroyed so many lives over the past year. Otherwise, nobody would ever listen to them again.
